Mel Parker
Mel Parker, founder of “Perfect Music Man, LLC” has been in Billboard Magazines “Top 100” 3 times as a studio musician. He has a strong background in music and was awarded a full scholarship on violin at Southern Illinois University. Mel studied classical violin under world famous Russian violinist Isador Grossman, Dr. John Kendall master violinist who was the founder of the Suzuki violin method in the United States and Dr. Kent Perry. While at SIU, Mel played in an exhibition concert with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Mel studied music theory at Eastman School of Music in New York.
Studying Jazz guitar under renowned guitarist Vince Arter, Mel won several national guitar championships. He also studied bluegrass and country fiddle with Shelby Eicher who was Roy Clark’s fiddle player for 9 years. Mel Parker has won multiple fiddle championships. He has recently been the Missouri State Fiddling champion, senior division.
Mel was executive producer for multiple Network Television theme songs, working with one of Hollywood's great musical arrangers for major motion picture film scores. He has written and produced numerous jingles & television theme songs as well as producing both national and international commercials.
He was exclusive direct response marketing agent for select recordings of Kenny Rogers, Ann Murray & Willie Nelson. Mel was nominated for an Emmy Award as well as winning and Emmy for his musical contribution for syndicated TV shows. Musical director for a 26 week Country Music Television program called “Live at the Cheyenne” aired on The Nashville Network starring such music legends as: Lee Greenwood, Mel Tillis, Tanya Tucker, The Osmonds, T.G. Shepherd and more. Also nominated for an ACE award in Hollywood as Vice President and musical director for Tri-Media Advertising, St. Louis, MO.
Mel has lectured at Universities in St. Petersburg, Russia; Krakow Poland; ORU in Tulsa Oklahoma, as well as consulting Radio and TV networks throughout Europe.
Member of American String Teachers Association, American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Mid America Music Association, Suzuki Association of the Americas.
